Editorial
Although I tend to vary up my flying style in FSX, I haven’t spent too long in the cockpit of an Airbus too much.
This package, then, caught my eye as it seemed to get the best of the Airbus in place without having to push too much – it was easy for me to learn, despite being a relative newbie to the specific form of Airbus.
Unlike other companies, to me anyway, Airbus can feel like it changes quite a lot from aircraft to aircraft so it can be nice to hop into the cockpit of this and just have some fun without being petrified, unable to do anything too advanced or exciting.
What I did with this remake was that whilst it was relatively simple, the design was just excellent. Clear and slick, this done a lot for selling the message and the look of the aircraft without hampering the performance in any way.
I can find that you usually need to trade off graphics for performance, but with this model it’s not the case; it manages to find a happy medium that makes a relatively big difference for me in terms of getting used to the aircraft.
Now, I know that I am flying something that takes after its real-life counterpart instead of some cheap counterpart. All of this makes sure that I can have some fun when I fly around, allowing me to really buy into the way that it flies and the style that it holds. It contains a single model and three texture sets so you can vary it up and change the look and feel.
Either way, though, the texture still looks awesome as you can see it shining proudly in the light. Airbus are a brand which are a bit low down on the brash advertising scale so it can be nice to fly this without all of the usual messages penned all over the aircraft, taking away from the model.
Speaking of the model, the creators have done a wonderful job on this. Comparing it to the real thing it looks just right – it does everything that it can to capture that quality and realism as closely as it possibly can, ensuring that it will keep improving and looking the part for as long as is possibly required. Now, you don’t have to deal with those irritating drops in performance or witnessing bugs and problems with the new features in the aircraft.
Everything has been tested here quite methodically and this easily manages to capture and define the way you feel.
I personally loved flying around in this aircraft on longer journeys, as it has that sturdy and powerful feel to it. I usually fly around in smaller models as the biggest ones can be a bit too much for me at times but this really was a lot of fun to get to learn how to fly – I’ll certainly be using it in the future, and would recommend you do as well!
