I don't believe the Autotune Carb is bad, and wish you had posted here before you took it back to the dealer, because I would have recommended a suggestion for you to try.
I have a model 545 Autotune, and thought the same way that you did, that it must be something wrong with the chainsaw, and went thru the identical symptoms that you did, However since I like to tinker, I wanted to find out why ? So I did not take it back to the Dealer, and here is what I discovered:
On occassion, there is an excess of fuel delivered to the cylinder, so that is why it will not start. If the engine doesn't fire within one or two pulls, 'Stop Pulling on the Starter'. your only adding more fuel to the cylinder which already has too much fuel. Follow the procedure in the Manual for starting, however If it doesn't start on the second pull, then hold the throttle control wide open (WOT) by pulling and holding the trigger all the way. While holding it, give the starter a good pull with the extra Air from (WOT) wide open throttle, the engine will start and will clear itself very quickly of excess fuel and run normally.
I think my new chainsaw just need a few really good starts, and also a good workout cutting some wood, since it doesn't do this anymore, and since I haven't been able to intentionally get it to repeat this problem, I have not been able to come to a conclusive post mortem analysis of the problem, but anyhow clearing the fuel from the cylinder by holding the trigger in WOT really works, but if it did this all of the time then you have a carburetor problem,

After reading through the manual for the autotune software I see the interface to the saw is 3 wires. While it is possible they developed their own protocol to talk between the computer and saw I suspect they use something off the shelf like serial. A basic usb to serial interface is a couple of bucks.
I hope this helps, and wonder If when you pick up your repaired chainsaw, If they will give you the old carburetor. I am sure they don't send them back, and I'm also about 99.9 % sure there is nothing wrong with it, so then you would have a spare.
